Ready for the madness?
March means college basketball. And that means it's time to play the Big Bracket, presented by 850 The Buzz and 620 The Bull! Test your hoops knowledge (or luck) and enjoy the rim-rocking, buzzer-beating march to the Men's collegiate hoops championship. It's easy to play even if you are not a die-hard college hoops fan. Best of all, it's a free! and easy three point play:
Register and you're ready to play! It's all you need to do to hit the hardcourt!
Note: If you played the Buzz Big Bracket before, there's no need to re-register. (You can
simply update your profile when prompted and login using the same username and password.)
Fill out your bracket anytime during the official entry period from 9:00 PM ET on Sunday, March 16 to 12:00 PM ET on Thursday, March 20, 2008.
Play it right and you could win up to $50,000 or one of the many guaranteed prizes we're giving away!
Game tips
As your chosen teams perform, so do you. Here are a few things to keep in mind when making your picks:
- In each of the four bracket regions—East (Charlotte), West (Phoenix), Midwest (Detroit) and South (Houston)— the teams are seeded from 1 through 16 with 1 being the top seed and 16 being the biggest underdog in each region.
- You can change your picks anytime during the official entry period but after the deadline has passed all picks are locked for the duration of the contest.
- The points awarded for each correct pick increase with each round.
- You'll earn the number of points indicated for every correct pick you make. Get it wrong and you get a goose egg for that game. See the Schedule/Scoring for more details.
Set up your own private group and invite your friends to join. Compete with your group members for bragging rights while you battle everyone else in the overall contest! You can even engage in a little bit of Trash Talk with your fellow group members - it's a private message board just for your group!
Check the Consensus Picks to see how your picks compare with those of everyone else.
Check the Standings as the games go into the record books. Standings will be updated regularly on game days throughout the tournament. Plus, you can compare your picks with anyone else in the contest once the deadline has passed. Check to see exactly which teams must win or lose for you to gain ground on your opponents!
Get personal email from the contest with your results at the end of each week and a reminder before the deadline if you have yet to complete your picks.
