There are two ways to win in the Chicago Sun-Times Scratch2Win Game running from April 9 to May 20, 2008. First, there's the basic Scratch2Win Game, in which participants scratch off the appropriate numbers on daily sections of game cards included in each Wednesday's Chicago Sun-Times or obtained without purchase during the game period. Second, there's the Online Bonus Game, in which participants compare the Online Bonus Code on their weekly game cards with the alpha-numeric codes published each day of the week at the Chicago Sun-Times website, www.suntimes.com. The total value of all available prizes is $258,000.00.
Here's How To Play The Chicago Sun-Times Scratch2Win Game
Game runs weekly, beginning Wednesday, April 9 and ending Tuesday, May 20, 2008 (the "Game Period").
Game cards ("Game Cards") are included in the Chicago Sun-Times ("Sun-Times") every Wednesday for 6 consecutive weeks (Wednesday, April 9 to Wednesday, May 14, 2008). Game Cards contain eight (8) game sections ("Sections"): two (2) for Sunday and one (1) for each remaining day of the week. Each Section contains ten (10) boxes numbered one (1) through ten (10).
Each day of the Game Period, the Sun-Times will publish FIVE (5) different numbers between one (1) and ten (10) for that day.
Gently scratch off only the numbered boxes on the Section(s) for that day on your Game Card that correspond exactly to the five (5) numbers printed in the Sun-Times newspaper for that specific day. Be sure to scratch until the "$" sign is visible on the left side of the box.
If any THREE (3) of the FIVE (5) boxes uncovered on a single Section reveal identical cash amounts, you win that amount - subject to verification and validation. NOTE: BOXES FROM MORE THAN ONE GAME SECTION CANNOT BE COMBINED TO FORM THREE (3) IDENTICAL CASH AMOUNTS.
IMPORTANT: If more than FIVE (5) numbered boxes on a single Section of any Game Card are totally or partially revealed, that Section is void and ineligible for a prize.

Here's How To Play The Online Bonus Game
A six-digit alpha-numeric code ("Online Bonus Code") will be printed in the Scratch2Win Online Bonus Code box appearing in the upper right corner of each Game Card.
Every day of the week during the Game Period, three (3) six-digit, alpha-numeric codes will be displayed on www.suntimes.com ("winning Online Bonus Codes"). The winning Online Bonus Codes will be different each day so you will have twenty one (21) chances to win the Online Bonus Game each week. The winning Online Bonus Codes for each day during the Game Period will be published online by 10am CDT at www.suntimes.com.
If one of the winning Online Bonus Codes published on www.suntimes.com exactly matches the Online Bonus Code on your Game Card for that week, you are a winner of the prize indicated, subject to verification and validation.

THE FOLLOWING RULES APPLY TO BOTH the Scratch2Win and the Online Bonus Game (the "Games"), unless otherwise indicated.
Who May Play
Games are open only to residents of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa, 18 years of age or older, except employees of Chicago Sun-Times LLC, SCA Promotions, Inc., their affiliated companies, agents and members of their respective immediate families. Games void where prohibited.
How To Claim A Prize
All prize claims must be submitted via mail. Potential winning prize claims must be received by mail no later than Friday, May 30th, 2008, after which all claims are void. Note: All claims are subject to verification and validation. Please allow four weeks for your prize to be mailed to you.
To submit your prize claim by mail: Legibly hand-print in ink, in plain block letters, your complete name, address, city, state, zip code and both daytime and evening telephone numbers, on a plain piece of paper or index card and mail it along with:
For a Scratch2Win claim: either the original Game Card or the original complete Section of your Game Card which you believe contains a winning match; or
For an Online Bonus Game claim: the original Game Card which you believe contains a winning Online Bonus Code.
You must also include a photocopy of valid government issued photo I.D. showing proof of age (e.g. your driver's license) in a single envelope to:

Prize claims should be mailed Registered Mail-Return Receipt Requested. Proof of mailing is not proof of delivery. If claiming an Online Bonus Game prize you must include your entire winning Game Card with your claim. No responsibility is assumed for late, lost, damaged, incomplete, inaccurate, illegible, postage due or misdirected mail, Game Cards or claim documentation submitted for verification and validation (or requests for Game Cards, see below). We strongly recommend that you print the last four numbers of your telephone number or the ID you are supplying in the space provided on the Section or Game Card you are submitting, and make a photocopy of your Game Card for your records and, for the Scratch2Win Game, retain a copy of the five numbers printed in the Sun-Times corresponding to the date for which you are submitting your claim.
Prize claim verification and validation: SCA Promotions, Inc., an independent judging organization, will oversee this process. By participating, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges which are final and binding on all matters relating to the Games. Prior to receipt of prize, winners of more than $500 will be obligated to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Release of Liability, and, where lawful, a Publicity Release, and will also be required to complete and sign a W9. By accepting a prize, winners consent to the use of their names, photographs and other likenesses for purposes of advertising, trade and promotion on behalf of Sun-Times, in all media, at any time or times, without notice, review or approval and without further compensation, unless unlawful. By submitting personal information, participants consent to the use of their names and contact information for marketing purposes by Sun-Times, and/or its advertisers and/or trade partners. All Game Cards, Game Card Sections and other materials submitted for verification and validation become the sole property of Sun-Times, and none will be returned. Any Game Card that is not obtained through authorized, legitimate channels or sources, or is illegible, mutilated, altered, duplicated, tampered with, forged, cut, torn, contains printing, programming, production, typographical or other errors or does not contain proper security markings will be void. In the event of printing, typographical, programming, production, broadcast, distribution, human or other error of any nature, Sun-Times, SCA Promotions, Inc., their affiliated companies and agents shall have no liability, beyond providing a replacement Game Card upon timely request, while supplies last. Sun-Times, SCA Promotions, Inc., their affiliated companies and agents shall have no liability in the event winning Online Bonus Codes are not published on time at www.suntimes.com for any reason. If due to a printing, publishing, typographical, production, programming, broadcast, distribution, human or other error, of any nature, more prizes are claimed in any prize category for that week than are intended to be awarded as stated in these Official Rules for that prize category for that week (including the Online Bonus Game prizes), the intended prizes for that prize category for that week (which have not been awarded) will be awarded in a random drawing from among all verified and validated prize claims received for that prize category for that week (which have not been awarded). In no event shall Sun-Times, SCA Promotions, Inc., their affiliated companies and agents have any liability to award more than the stated number of prizes in any prize category for any week (including the Online Bonus Game prizes). All federal, state and local taxes, as well as any expenses not specified in these Official Rules, are the sole responsibility of the winner(s). Participants agree that Sun-Times, SCA Promotions, Inc., their affiliated companies and agents shall not be liable for injuries or losses of any kind (including those which may be due to negligence) resulting from participation in any aspect of this game or acceptance of or use of any prize. Limit one prize claimant per prize claim. Prizes cannot be transferred or assigned.
No Purchase Is Necessary To Play
Copies of the Sun-Times in physical and/or digital form may be examined in many local libraries. If you wish to receive a Game Card without purchasing the Sun-Times, while supplies last (limit of one Game Card per request, per outer mail stamped envelope), send a separate, stamped (1st Class oversize envelope rate), hand printed self-addressed, 9" x 12" envelope to:

Clearly print on the lower left corner of your outer mailing envelope the week number of the Game Card you are requesting. Requests must be postmarked no later than May 14, 2008 and received no later than May 19, 2008. Requests with insufficient postage will not be filled.
For a list of winners, available after June 6th, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Sun-Times Winners List, at the address in this section, for receipt by August 20, 2008.
Participants agree that the Games will be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, applicable to agreements made and wholly performed therein, without consideration of any conflict of law doctrine of any jurisdiction.
Chicago Sun-Times LLC reserves the right to abandon, modify or delay the Games before the published end date due to natural disasters or other "Acts of God", war, terrorism or the failure of third parties—such as suppliers and subcontractors—to perform their obligations, or if there is a printing, typographical, production programming, publishing, broadcast, distribution, human or other error of any nature that, in the sole discretion of Chicago Sun-Times LLC impairs or destroys the integrity of the promotion.
