DAILY NEWS RINGLING BROS.® CIRCUS SWEEPSTAKES
OFFICIAL RULES - NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN
MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
TO ENTER: Complete entry form or write your name, address, age and daytime and evening phone numbers on a piece of paper or index card and send it via 1st class mail in a #10 envelope to: Daily News/Ringling Bros.® Circus Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 3306, G.P.O., New York, NY 10116 or enter online at http://www.nydailynews.com/contests/index.html. Entries must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday, February 25, 2008. No mechanically reproduced or illegible entries accepted. Daily News, L.P. (“Sponsor”) is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, postage-due, incomplete or mutilated entries or unsuccessful attempts to enter. Express, Priority, Registered, Certified and oversized mail are ineligible. If there is a dispute as to the identity of the online entrant, the prize will be awarded to the authorized account holder of the e-mail address. The “authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person to whom the e-mail address is assigned by an internet service provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Sweepstakes begins on February 10, 2008 and ends on February 25, 2008.
LIMIT: ONE (1) ENTRY PER OUTER MAILING ENVELOPE AND PER EMAIL ADDRESS; ONE (1) ENTRY PER FAMILY OR HOUSEHOLD.
PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE:
Grand Prize (1): Four (4) tickets to a tiger training and rehearsal session for winner and three (3) guests on April 2, 2008 (date subject to change); four (4) VIP tickets to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus® at Madison Square Garden (valid for all shows except for the Saturday and Sunday 3 PM EST shows) and one (1) historic Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus® poster.
Approximate retail value of Grand Prize: $300.
First Prize (1,250): Family four (4) pack of ticket vouchers for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus® at Madison Square Garden (valid for all shows except for the Saturday and Sunday 3 PM EST shows)
Approximate retail value of each First Prize: $130.
Total approximate retail value of all prizes to be awarded (1,251): $162,800.
DRAWING: Winners will be determined in a random drawing to be conducted on or about February 26, 2008 from all eligible entries. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. First Prize winners will be required to exchange their ticket vouchers for four (4) complimentary tickets from the box office at Madison Square Garden, located on Seventh Ave. between 31st and 33rd Streets in Manhattan. Box office is open Monday through Saturday, 12 PM EST to 6:00 PM EST. TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS FOR THE BEST AVAILABLE SEATS (NOT VALID ON VIP, VIP GOLD OR CIRCUS CELEBRITY™ SEATS). TICKET VOUCHERS NOT VALID AFTER April 5th, 2008.
ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes open to legal U.S. residents (except those residing in the state of FL and RI) eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Daily News, L.P., Feld Entertainment, Inc., Madison Square Garden, L.P., Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus® and their respective affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents, and their immediate families or those living in the same household, are ineligible to enter. Sweepstakes is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all federal, state and local laws.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: Winners are responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and all expenses not specifically mentioned herein. Prize is not for resale, cannot be redeemed for cash, is not transferable or exchangeable, and cannot be used in conjunction with any discount, premium or rebate offer. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, stolen, misdirected, mutilated, returned or unclaimed prizes that are mailed or shipped to prize winners. No substitution of prizes permitted. Prizes are not redeemable for cash and are not transferable. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value if prize is unavailable. Prior to accepting any prize, winners and their guests (if a minor, his/her respective parent or legal guardian) may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and release. If winner does not respond to prize notification within two (2) days or if such documents are not returned, properly signed, notarized and completed within seven (7) days of issuance of notification, or if any prize notification is returned as undeliverable, a winner may be disqualified, at Sponsor’s sole discretion and an alternate winner(s) may be selected from among all eligible entries. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use photographs and likeness of winner for editorial, advertising or promotional purposes without additional notice, approval, consent or compensation, unless prohibited by law. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned due, without limitation, to errors in these Official Rules or advertising for this sweepstakes, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, human error or any other cause beyond the control of Sponsor that, in the sole judgment of Sponsor, could corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. By entering, entrants agree at all times to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Daily News, L.P., Feld Entertainment, Inc., Madison Square Garden, L.P. and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Circus from and against any and all claims, demands, actions and/or liabilities for any and all injuries, deaths, accidents, losses or damages of any kind resulting directly or indirectly from any and all activity related to entering and/or participating in this Sweepstakes or from the acceptance or use of a prize. If due to a printing, production or other error, more prizes are claimed than are intended to be awarded, prizes will be awarded in a random drawing from among all verified entries. In no event will more than one (1) Grand Prize and one thousand two hundred and fifty (1,250) First Prizes be awarded. Entries that are obtained through unauthorized sources are void. By participating in this Sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. For a winners list, send a stamped, self -addressed envelope after February 28, 2008 to: Winner’s List, Daily News Ringling Bros.® Circus Sweepstakes, at address below. Requests received without a self-addressed, stamped envelope will not be filled. Requests for winners’ lists will be honored up to six months after final drawing date.
